Invitation To Attend

Dear Colleague,

I would like to cordially invite you to attend the 32nd Australasian Polymer Symposium (32APS) organised by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) Polymer Division, which will be held from 13 to 16 February, 2011 at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort in Coffs Harbour.

The Australasian Polymer Symposium is a feast of polymer science covering all topics ranging from polymer synthesis, characterization, physics of polymers, engineering to materials. Topics will span from fundamental polymer science such as modeling to applied materials. A considerable portion of the APS is always dedicated to the interface of polymer science with other disciplines such as biomaterials, nanomaterials and surface science.

The topics of the conference will capture all areas in polymer science:

  • Latest developments in polymer synthesis
  • Latest trends in polymer characterization
  • Advanced Materials
  • Polymers for Health
  • Polymers and the Environment and Water Treatment
  • Polymers for Electronics and Energy
  • Other Polymer Related Areas

We are delighted to welcome keynote speakers from all areas of polymer science from around the world including:

  • David Castner – University of Washington, USA
  • Ric Kaner – University of California, USA
  • Christopher Ober – Cornell University, USA
  • Thomas Russell – University of Massachusetts, USA
  • Katharina Landfester – Max-Planck-Institute, Germany
  • Takuzo Aida – University of Tokyo, Japan
  • Rachel O’Reilly - University of Warwick, UK
  • Neil Cameron - University of Durham, UK
  • Marc Hillmyer - University of Minnesota, USA
  • Per Zetterlund - University of NSW, Australia
  • Andrew Lowe - University of NSW, Australia
  • Kelly Velonia- University of Crete, Greece
  • Richard Hoogenboom- Ghent University, Belgium
  • Vivek Prahbu - Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory,
National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD
  • Kohji Ohno - Institute for Chemical Research of Kyoto University
  • Gordon Selling - USDA-ARS-NCAUR, Peoria, IL

The APS has a reputation for its excellent scientific presentations and discussions, but also for the warm and convivial atmosphere of its many social events an ideal place for networking. The Novotel Pacific Bay Resort is the venue for 32APS and is located on the outskirts of Coffs Harbour, which is itself located midway between Sydney and Brisbane. Coffs Harbour is renowned for its natural beauty and for its wide variety of activities available to its visitors. Situated directly on the coast, there is opportunity for whale-watching and diving, whilst its magnificent hinterland has many opportunities for bushwalking within its luscious rainforest. Coffs Harbour is attractive for golf enthusiasts with almost a dozen beautiful golf courses.

We very much hope that you are able to accept this invitation to attend the 32APS and look forward to welcoming you to Coffs Harbour.
